Title pretty much says it. I read some posts on people would tried it and they needed to switch wires in the display ribbon cable.

That’s ok, or maybe I can leave the display unplugged and used Octoprint. I need a replacement board for the Ender 3 V2 and just want to confirm that it should work, at least without a display.

Is there firmware for this, or mods required to Marlin source documented?

I don’t understand why this question never gets answered. Seems a pretty simple question.

I think the answer is yes, with the right firmware, and the required firmware is not provided by BTT. Relatively simple configuration required, but Ender 3 V2 with SKR Mini E3 is NOT officially supported by Marlin.

Also, the ribbon cable for the stock Ender 3 V2 display must be rewired.

This I gleaned from reading online forum posts, but you never know “who’s a dog on the internet”. So, I’d really like a position from BTT
